Campaign and ad creation
Campaign and ad creation
Campaign and ad creation actions appear only when the workspace, source, and user role allow them. Many users can review Ad Library evidence without being able to create or change campaign records.
Who Can Use Create Actions
| What you see | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Create Campaign is visible | Your role can add a campaign for the current source/workspace. |
| Create Ad is visible | Your role can add an ad under the current campaign context. |
| Create actions are hidden | Your role, workspace setup, or selected source does not allow creation. |
| Save is disabled | Required fields are missing or invalid. |
Create A Campaign
Use Create Campaign when a new campaign record should exist in Ad Library.
- Open Ad Library.
- Choose the source where the campaign belongs.
- Select Create Campaign if the action is visible.
- Enter the campaign name and all required fields.
- Save.
- Confirm the campaign appears in the expected source list.
- Open the campaign and confirm ads can be added or reviewed.
Create An Ad
Use Create Ad when a new ad belongs under an existing campaign.
- Open the campaign in Ads Listing.
- Select Create Ad if the action is visible.
- Confirm the campaign context.
- Add the required ad name, title, copy, link, creative, and source fields shown in the form.
- Save.
- Open Ad Details to confirm the link, title, text, media, and metrics area look right.
The exact required fields can vary by source and workspace configuration. Trust the form validation in DOE; do not reuse old campaign values unless they still match the current source.
Status Maintenance
Some roles can change campaign status from Active to Paused or from Paused to Active. Use this carefully:
| Action | What it means |
|---|---|
| Activate | DOE starts collecting new ad data and performance metrics again for that campaign. |
| Pause | DOE stops data collection and tracking until the campaign is reactivated. |
If the status action is not available, ask a workspace admin to confirm whether your role should manage campaign status.
Validation And Review
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Campaign name | Helps users find the campaign later and avoid duplicate records. |
| Source | Controls which metrics, fields, and preview behavior apply. |
| Ad link | Determines where the audience is sent. |
| Title and text | Shows what users will inspect in Ad Details. |
| Creative asset | Allows thumbnail and preview review when supported. |
| Status | Controls whether the campaign or ad is treated as active/paused. |
After creating or changing anything, return to the campaign list, open the ads list, and check Ad Details. That is the simplest way to catch missing copy, wrong links, or unavailable previews before someone uses the data in a review.
