Report data freshness
Report data freshness
Use this page when a report number does not exactly match an Insights card, export, linked account, stakeholder, website record, or deal.
Two pages can both be correct and still show different numbers. The most common reasons are date range, timezone, filters, scope, report level, and refresh timing.
What To Check First
| Difference | What to check |
|---|---|
| Date range | Make sure both pages use the same duration or custom range. |
| Timezone | Some reports use report day in UTC; website reports use the viewer's local calendar for named durations. |
| Filters | Clear search, owner, status, fit, account, stakeholder, and movement filters. |
| Scope | Confirm whether the page is showing the whole workspace or a narrowed account/owner view. |
| Report level | Account, stakeholder, website, deal, and non-targeted reports group data differently. |
| Refresh timing | A summary card, table, and export may refresh at different times. |
| Access | Your role may hide rows another user can see. |
How Report Time Windows Work
| Report type | Date behavior to remember |
|---|---|
| LinkedIn, account Individual Targeting, stakeholder reports, Media Impact Movements, and Augmented Retargeting | These use provider/report-day timing in UTC. |
| Website Performance and Non-targeted Website Performance | Named durations use the viewer's local calendar. |
| Media Summary | LinkedIn, Individual Targeting, and website follow the selected window. IP and GEO data can remain cumulative even when another window is selected. |
| Product Interest Fit and Deal Product Interest Fit | These use the selected fit window, such as Last window, Last 30 days, or Last 7 days. |
Why Reports Can Differ From Insights
| What you see | Likely reason |
|---|---|
| Insights card is higher than a report table | Insights may summarize a broader set of activity or use a different card rule. |
| Report has rows but Insights does not show them | Insights may show only selected top activity, while Reports show the detailed list. |
| Website count differs by page | Targeted website traffic and non-targeted website traffic are separated. |
| Media Summary differs from LinkedIn, IP, or GEO | Media Summary combines multiple sources, and some sources have different window behavior. |
| Export differs from what someone else downloaded | Date range, filters, sort, workspace, or access may not match. |
Before Reporting A Mismatch
- Refresh both pages.
- Match the same workspace.
- Match the same date range or duration.
- Clear search and filters.
- Check whether one page is account-level and the other is stakeholder-level.
- Check whether the report uses UTC report days or local website days.
- Download only after the on-screen view looks correct.
Website Signal Counts Versus Visit Counts
The Signals feed counts Signal rows, while a website summary can count the visits represented by those rows. One company-and-day row may contain several visits. Match the date range and open the company visit history before treating the two totals as a mismatch.
What Users Should Do
Use Insights to notice activity quickly. Use Reports as the detailed evidence page. For important decisions, open the account, stakeholder, deal, or website record behind the number before acting.
