Salesforce FAQ
FAQ
What happens if the domain does not match?
DOE does not automatically map the account. Fix the domain and re-run mapping, manually connect the DOE account to a Salesforce Account, import the Salesforce Account into DOE, or export the DOE account to Salesforce.
What happens if the domain is empty or invalid?
DOE treats it as unsafe for automatic account matching. The account can still be imported, exported, or manually connected because the final mapping is stored by Salesforce object ID.
What happens if more than one Salesforce Account uses the same domain?
DOE treats the result as ambiguous and skips automatic mapping. A user should choose the correct Salesforce Account manually.
What happens if a stakeholder email does not match?
DOE does not automatically map the stakeholder. Import the Salesforce Contact, export the DOE stakeholder, or let DOE auto-connect the stakeholder after the parent account is mapped and the email can be matched safely.
What happens if the stakeholder has no email?
DOE cannot use email for automatic stakeholder matching. The stakeholder can still be created, exported, imported, or connected manually when the user can identify the correct Salesforce Contact.
What happens if the same email appears in more than one Contact?
DOE keeps matching account-aware. If the duplicate makes the match unsafe, DOE skips the automatic connection and shows the reason for review.
Does changing a domain or email break an existing mapping?
No. Existing mappings stay tied to the Salesforce object ID. Use Re-run Mapping or manual connect when you need to map new or changed records.
Why are some Salesforce import rows disabled?
Those Accounts or Contacts are already mapped in DOE. Disabled rows can still show provider links where available.
What should I export?
Export DOE accounts when the company should exist in Salesforce. Export DOE stakeholders when the person should exist as a Salesforce Contact. If both are new to Salesforce, export the account first so the stakeholder can be associated with the correct Salesforce Account.
What should I import?
Import Salesforce Accounts when Salesforce is the source and DOE does not have those accounts yet. Import Salesforce Contacts when the DOE account is already connected and those Salesforce Contacts should become DOE stakeholders.
Should I import, export, or connect manually?
Import when the record exists in Salesforce and needs to come into DOE. Export when the record exists in DOE and needs to go to Salesforce. Connect manually when both records already exist and only the mapping is missing.
Can I skip first-time setup?
Yes. Salesforce stays connected. The remaining setup work can be resumed from Settings > Integrations > Salesforce > Details.
Does disconnect delete records?
No. Disconnect removes the mapping for one account or stakeholder. It does not delete DOE records or Salesforce records.
Does uninstall delete DOE business records?
No. Disconnect Salesforce removes the integration context, mappings, and sync state. It does not delete DOE accounts, stakeholders, deals, timeline records, Salesforce Accounts, or Salesforce Contacts.
Where do users verify an export?
Open the DOE record and choose View in Salesforce. Accounts should open as Salesforce Accounts. Stakeholders should open as Salesforce Contacts.
Do I need to install the Salesforce package before connecting?
Yes. Install or upgrade the DOE Salesforce package first so the org has the widgets, managed fields, and OAuth app metadata needed for the integration.
Does installing the Salesforce package connect DOE?
No. Package installation and OAuth connection are separate steps. Install the package in Salesforce, then return to DOE and connect Salesforce from Settings > Integrations.
Does disconnecting DOE uninstall the Salesforce package?
No. Disconnect removes the backend connection, credentials, jobs, mappings, and managed cleanup state. The customer uninstalls the Salesforce package from Salesforce if they want to remove widgets and package metadata.
How are Salesforce inbound updates handled?
Salesforce inbound updates are collected through scheduled polling. The details panel shows polling timing and health when available.
What happens if Salesforce validation rules block an update?
DOE preserves the Salesforce rejection details and surfaces the issue as an operator-visible warning. Customer validation and duplicate rules remain under the customer's Salesforce configuration.
